Feeders: High School and Adult Discernment Groups; Campus Ministers; Parishes

Description

  • Diocesan wide gatherings of men or women (18-49) who come together to focus on the spiritual life, to meditate on it, and learn ways to discern God’s will
  • Retreats are normally held twice a year, once in the fall and once in the Spring, in central locations in the diocese

Goals

  • Provide a weekend gathering of Catholic, young men who desire to grow in their faith and understanding of discernment
  • Give conferences that form and direct young men in Christian discipleship and prayer
  • Create a network among Catholic, young men in order to promote other vocation programs and opportunities

Implementation

  • Present retreat program to superintendent of Catholic Schools and the Director of Youth and Young Adults
  • Contact moderators of discernment groups and encourage their promotion of the retreat
  • Distribute the retreat brochure to youth directors and teen program leaders, as well as in other vocation programs
  • Organize retreat: leader, small group leaders, schedule, logistics
  • Provide any needed scholarships or help for young men to attend
